Qutayba al-Rifai, a member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in Hasakah, northeastern Syria, he was killed after being shot by a relative due to a previous family dispute between them.
Saeed al-Salibi fired at the Asayish member in front of al-Sabbagh station at the northern entrance of the city of Hasakah on Tuesday morning, killing Qutayba and injuring another citizen in his leg.
The reason for the dispute is that, the perpetrator, Said had accused Qutayba of killing his wife and injuring his cousin after a fight between them last Ramadan.
Local sources reported that the death of Said al-Salibi’s wife was that the bullets which were fired by Qutayba at Said’s wife were poisoned bullets, which led to her death within 24 hours.
The Internal Security Forces intervened and took appropriate procedures to prevent any killings that might occur between the two families.
Both, the murderer and the victim are from al-Baggara tribe, and live in Khushman neighborhood in the city of Hasakah.
