Amina Omar, co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), the political umbrella of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), revealed the readiness of special committees for dialogue with the Syrian government, adding that "the regime told us that they are not ready for dialogue."

Omar said that the SDC "is always engaged in dialogue and diplomatic ways to solve problems, especially between the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian government," accusing the latter of "not accepting change and not being ready to start dialogue."

She added that about two years ago, talks started and several rounds were held between them and the Syrian government, but the government was not "ready for dialogue."

Omar revealed that Russia insisted on continuing negotiations between the two parties, as "these negotiations will lead to certain results," according to the Russian point of view.

Omar stated that, based on the Russian insistence to "start the dialogue", it was agreed that the government and the SDC would form committees to discuss the "Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria and the Local Administration Law issued by the Syrian government in 2011."
