Joint Russian-Turkish military patrol in western Derbasiya countryside, north-eastern Syria

Today on Thursday, a joint Russian-Turkish patrol consisting of several military vehicles and two Russian helicopters went out in the western countryside of the town of Derbasiya, in northeastern Syria. The patrol consisting of 4 Turkish military vehicles and 4 Russian military vehicles was accompanied by two Russian helicopters from the village of Shirik, in the western countryside of Derbasiya, where the patrol was conducted on Derbasiya-Ras al-Ain road.

The patrol toured Abu Rasin (Zargan) area, then the Turkish armored vehicles returned to the Turkish side via Qara-Mania crossing, west of of Derbasiya. The Russian and Turkish forces conducted last Saturday the first joint patrol on M4 highway, in Tal Tamr countryside, in north-eastern Syria, starting from Aliyah silos, some 20 km west of Tal Tamr, passing through the village of Mabrouka in southeastern countryside of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), to end up to the village of Tawila, 8 km west of Tal Tamr, accompanied by two Russian helicopters.

It is worth noting that the joint patrols that Russia and Turkey are conducting in northeastern Syria come in accordance with Sochi Agreement, which was signed last November after the control of the Turkish military and its armed opposition groups over the areas of Ras al-Ain and Tal-Abyad (Gre-Spi).
