Implementation of the "security mechanism" and YPG last batche withdraw from Tal Abyad

The last batch of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have moved away from the bordering strip east of the town of Tal Abyad/Gre Spi on Saturday, to be replaced by Tal Abyad Military Council.
A joint patrol between the US forces and Tal Abyad Military Council supervised the withdrawal of SDF and YPG forces, after filling their trenches at three bordering points, east of the town of Tal Abyad.
The joint patrol comes within the efforts exerted within the framework of implementing the “security mechanism” agreed upon between the US and Turkey in coordination with the SDF.
A military source told North-Press reporter that filling process coincided with joint flights sorties between the US and Turkish forces.
The source added that Tal Abyad “has ended the phase of filling trenches and tunnels, as the YPG and SDF have withdrawn completely from Tal Abyad”.
The Co-chair of Tal Abyad Military Council, Rouseil Mahmoud told North-Press that they are “committed to the terms of the implementation of the security mechanism”, noting that “soil fortifications are being removed to complement the agreement.”
The YPG and SDF have prepared a network of tunnels following the Turkish threats to invade north and eastern Syria.
While the US, SDF and Turkey have agreed to implement a “security mechanism” on the borders between Sere-Kaniye/Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad/Gre Spi.
The agreement includes moving the YPG and SDF away from the borders with along with their heavy weapons, to be replaced by military councils in order to fill the security vacuum.
