Global Coalition: Any military assault on northeastern Syria will affect agreements with Turkey

The representative of the Global Coalition to defeat ISIS in Syria, General Nicholas Pond said that “any military assault by Turkey against north and eastern Syria will affect the relations and agreements with Turkey,” noting that “the Global Coalition Forces will continue supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to bring peace and stability, and to eliminate the Islamic State (ISIS).”
During the annual meeting of the Syrian Democratic Forces, General Nicholas Pond said that they would apply “security mechanisms to protect our allies against any uncoordinated attacks”, noting that “the United States and the Global Coalition will agree with Turkey to establish an operations center, which will be in several stages.”
The representative of the Global Coalition Forces in Syria pointed out that the security mechanism “will ensure the stability of the region and support our allies in their war against ISIS,” noting that the Islamic State group (ISIS) is following new methods in the region.
This morning, the general annual meeting of the SDF military formations’ commanders was held under the slogan “From defeating terrorism towards establishing the foundations of stability” at the SDF headquarters in the city of Hasakah, which was attended by representatives of the SDF military formations as well as representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and some political parties.
