Syrian officials meet in Aleppo to discuss integration, return of IDPs
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Syrian officials met on Saturday in Aleppo, northwestern Syria, to discuss integration efforts and plans to facilitate the return of displaced residents to their cities and villages, including security, administrative and service arrangements.
Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib held an expanded meeting with Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad, Deir ez-Zor Governor Ziad al-Ayesh, Second Corps commander Brig. Gen. Awad Mohammad al-Jassem and Deputy Defense Minister for the Eastern Region Sipan Hamo to discuss the work of the integration committee and the return of displaced people.
According to a statement by the Aleppo Governorate, the meeting discussed Aleppo’s role in the work of the presidential integration committee in recent months, particularly efforts to facilitate the return of displaced people to their cities and villages.
The meeting also addressed future plans and the security, service, field and administrative arrangements needed to facilitate residents’ return during the next phase.
Presidential committee member and Member of Parliament Mustafa Abdi, presidential integration committee spokesperson Ahmad al-Hilali, Hasakah Internal Security chief Brig. Gen. Marwan al-Ali, Aleppo deputy governors Fawaz Hilal and Ali Hannoura, and several executive office members and representatives of various groups also attended the meeting.
