Syria’s Anti-Narcotics Administration foils trafficking attempt in Suwayda
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Anti-Drug Administration foiled on Saturday an attempt to smuggle a shipment of narcotics during a security operation in the eastern countryside of Suwayda.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 138 kilograms of hashish and 382,000 narcotic pills, which were reportedly in the possession of groups described by the administration as operating outside the law in the governorate, according to a statement published on its official platforms.
The administration said its authorities continue investigations and security operations to identify and pursue those involved in the attempted smuggling, ahead of taking the necessary legal measures against them.
Last week, the Anti-Drug Administration also foiled an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of narcotic pills intended for a neighboring country and seized the shipment in full.
