Syria expects decrees on Abdi, Ahmad, Kurdish education-Sources
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria is expected to issue three presidential decrees on Kurdish appointments and Kurdish-language education, government sources told North Press on Wednesday.
The first decree will appoint Mazloum Abdi as an adviser to President Ahmed al-Sharaa, according to the sources.
The second will appoint Kurdish politician Ilham Ahmed as a member of the People’s Assembly, while the third will establish a mechanism for Kurdish-language education in Syria, the sources said.
The expected decrees follow a meeting on Tuesday between al-Sharaa, Abdi, Ahmed and several Kurdish officials at the People’s Palace in Damascus.
Following the meeting, Abdi announced at a press conference at the palace that the Syrian Democratic Forces would dissolve as an independent military force and integrate into the Syrian army as brigades.
