IDPs leave northern Syria camps for areas of origin
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) — A new convoy carrying about 217 families left on Sunday camps in northern Syria for their areas of origin in the countryside of Idlib and Hama and in Damascus.
The convoy was prepared under the auspices of the Idlib Governorate and supervised by the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, according to government media.
The operation was coordinated with the directorates of social affairs in the two governorates, in cooperation with the UN refugee agency and humanitarian organizations, the reports said.
Voluntary return convoys have continued daily under approved plans and in coordination with relevant authorities, according to the reports.
The coordination aims to accelerate the return of residents who wish to return to their areas safely and with stability, the reports said.
