Israeli forces enter Syria’s Daraa, set up checkpoint
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Saturday entered the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, deploying troops and setting up a checkpoint to inspect passersby.
The force, comprising 12 military vehicles and accompanied by two drones, advanced toward Jamla village in the Yarmouk Basin area.
The troops then moved toward Saysoun village in the same area and positioned themselves on the Saysoun Bridge between residential neighborhoods.
The forces conducted a field deployment in the area and established a checkpoint to inspect people passing through, according to the report.
The latest incursion comes amid continued Israeli military activity in southern Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2024.
