Israeli forces enter Syria’s Quneitra, deploy military vehicles
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces advanced toward Saida al-Hanout village in the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, local sources told North Press on Tuesday.
The sources said several Israeli military vehicles entered the area from the Tel Abu al-Ghithar gate via the “Sufa 53” road toward Saida al-Hanout.
The entry coincided with drone flights over Quneitra and Daraa governorates, while no information was immediately available on any arrests, according to the sources.
The sources explained that the “Sufa 53” road was established by the Israeli forces after the fall of the al-Assad regime as a first line of defense, consisting of earth berms and trenches stretching 70 kilometers from Mount Hermon to the Wadi al-Raqad area in Daraa.
Separately, the Israeli army said in a statement that during the night, three Israeli civilians arrived in the Mount Hermon area and crossed the border into Syrian territory.
The statement added that Israeli forces were dispatched to the area to locate them and return them to Israel. They were returned and handed over to Israeli police.
