Syria, Turkey complete temporary bridge over Euphrates River in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Ministry of Defense engineering teams, in cooperation with Turkey’s Ministry of Defense, on Wednesday completed construction of a temporary military bridge linking the city of Deir ez-Zor with its eastern countryside.
According to Syria TV news channel, Syrian and Turkish teams installed and connected a floating military bridge across the Euphrates River to restore access between the two sides of the Governorate.
The project was completed alongside rehabilitation work on an existing earthen crossing, creating two temporary routes intended to ease travel for residents while the permanent al-Siyasiya Bridge undergoes reconstruction.
Meanwhile, Syria’s General Organization for Building and Construction said work on rebuilding and rehabilitating al-Siyasiya Bridge has reached 15 percent completion during the first month of the project.
The agency added that the pace of construction has allowed the expected completion timeline to be reduced from 12 months to 10 months, accelerating efforts to restore one of Deir ez-Zor’s key transportation links.
