Iran targets 85 U.S. military sites in Bahrain, Kuwait
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday targeted 85 U.S. military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait, according to Reuters, marking a sharp escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Tehran and Washington.
The strikes came after Iranian officials vowed a crushing response to recent U.S. attacks on targets inside Iran.
Iran’s Supreme Joint Military Command said the country’s armed forces would deliver a decisive retaliation, accusing the U.S. military of carrying out attacks on areas in southern Iran and describing the operation as “blatant aggression.”
The command also reiterated that Iran would not allow the United States to interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz, insisting that the only safe route for commercial vessels and oil tankers through the strategic waterway is the one designated by Tehran.
The escalation follows a new round of U.S. military strikes announced late Tuesday by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which said it had targeted sites inside Iran in response to recent attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
