Netanyahu says Israeli forces to remain in border zone until Hezbollah disarmed
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday instructed the military to destroy all infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Netanyahu declared that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the border area until the group has been fully disarmed.
According to a statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu ordered the military to demolish all facilities used by Hezbollah to launch attacks against Israel, including both above-ground positions and underground tunnel networks.
He also instructed soldiers to act immediately if they identify any threat to their lives, stressing that Israeli forces will remain in the border zone until Hezbollah is completely disarmed and no longer poses a security threat to Israel.
Netanyahu described Hezbollah as the most important link in Iran’s regional alliance, claiming that the group’s arsenal—once estimated at around 150,000 rockets and missiles—has been reduced to approximately 8 percent of its original capacity.
