Israeli forces detain civilian, raid villages in southern Syria
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Tuesday carried out incursions into villages in the countryside of Quneitra and Daraa, southern #Syria, detaining a civilian and conducting house raids before withdrawing.
Syria’s state-run news agency SANA reported that an Israeli unit entered the village of Trinjeh in the northern countryside of Quneitra, raided several houses, and detained a resident before pulling back toward the town of Jabata al-Khashab.
In a related incident on Monday, Israeli forces reportedly detained two children from the village of Bariqa in Quneitra southern countryside and transferred them to an unknown location.
Separately, another Israeli unit entered the village of Abdin in the northwestern countryside of Daraa. The force searched a house before withdrawing toward the nearby Ezz al-Din farm on the outskirts of Koya village.
These movements come amid what Syrian authorities describe as repeated Israeli violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through incursions, raids, land bulldozing, and the detention of civilians in southern Syria.
Damascus has repeatedly rejected these actions, calling for an end to the Israeli presence on Syrian territory and describing all measures taken in southern Syria as illegal under international law.
Syrian officials have also urged the international community to act to halt what they describe as ongoing violations and to compel Israel to withdraw fully.
