Israeli force detains 2 brothers in Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli military force detained on Monday two brothers, both minors, after raiding a home in the village of Bariqa in the countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria.
A source said that the force, consisting of four military vehicles and more than 20 soldiers, surrounded the house before carrying out the raid and arrest operation.
He added that the two boys were taken to an unknown location, with no reasons for the detention disclosed.
The incident sparked concern among residents, who said similar incursions and arrests of minors have occurred intermittently in Quneitra Governorate, heightening fears over the impact of such operations on daily life in the area.
Residents reported that Israeli forces imposed a cordon around the house during the operation, preventing movement in the immediate vicinity while the raid was underway.
There was no immediate comment from Israeli authorities regarding the operation or the circumstances surrounding the detention.
Locals say recurring incursions in villages along the Quneitra countryside have created a climate of anxiety, particularly when children are involved in arrest operations.
