QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli military patrol advanced into the countryside of Quneitra in southern Syria on Friday, setting up a temporary checkpoint and inspecting civilians and vehicles, according to local sources.
Sources told North Press that the patrol consisted of two military vehicles, identified as a “Hilux” and a “Hummer.” The force moved into the area between the Quneitra Governorate building and the town of al-Samdaniyah al-Gharbiyah.
During the incursion, Israeli forces established a checkpoint where they stopped passersby and searched civilian vehicles. No arrests or injuries were reported during the operation.
After completing the inspections, the patrol withdrew from the area and returned to its positions, the sources added.
Such incidents have occurred intermittently along the separation line in Quneitra, an area that has witnessed repeated movements amid ongoing tensions in southern Syria.
