Israeli patrol enters southern Quneitra, sets up checkpoint

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces carried out a new incursion on Monday into the southern countryside of Quneitra, southwest Syria, according to local sources.

The incursion took place in the area between the villages of Ruwaihina and Western Zubaida, where a unit of the Israeli army entered Syrian territory.

Local sources told North Press that the force, consisting of three vehicles, advanced into the area and set up a temporary checkpoint on the road connecting the two villages. The soldiers reportedly stopped and searched civilians passing through the area before withdrawing later.

On Sunday, similar movements were reported in southern Syria, including two incursions near the village of Jamla in the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa countryside, as well as another in Quneitra countryside.

These developments come amid continued field activity in southern Syria, where intermittent incursions and movements have been recorded in recent periods.
