ISIS claims killing of alleged SDF member in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State group (ISIS) claimed on Monday responsibility for targeting an individual it identified as a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Deir ez-Zor countryside, eastern Syria.

In a statement published by its affiliated media outlet, Amaq, the group said its militants had opened fire with machine guns on an SDF member in the town of Baghuz, east of Deir ez-Zor, resulting in his immediate death.

However, local sources in Baghuz told North Press that the victim was a civilian who worked as a private generator operator and was not affiliated with any military or political faction.
