Syrian Interior Ministry reports Large narcotics seizure In Damascus countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Interior Ministry announced on Monday that security units seized a large quantity of narcotics in Rural Damascus following what it described as “accurate information” about suspicious activity in the area.
In a statement published on its social media platforms, the ministry said that “a specialized patrol headed to the reported location and security forces began a thorough search operation.” According to the ministry’s account, the raid resulted in the discovery of 324 bricks of hashish, along with additional quantities of narcotics that were not fully detailed in the initial statement.
The ministry said the operation took place after intelligence units received confirmed information indicating active trafficking in the targeted area. It added that the substances were confiscated and transferred to the competent authorities for further examination.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry in Damascus said that investigations are underway to identify individuals involved in the Damascus countryside case. The suspects linked to the seized materials are being sought, and preliminary legal procedures have begun, according to the ministry’s statement.
