Masked gunmen kill schoolteacher in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A schoolteacher was shot dead on Sunday morning by unknown gunmen in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that Samah Sami Salim al-Zaabi, a young teacher at al-Tayba Elementary School in eastern Daraa, was killed on her way to work after being hit by more than ten bullets fired by masked gunmen on a motorcycle.

The source added that the attack took place in the northern neighborhood of the town of al-Tayba, near the road leading to the town of Kahil.

The two gunmen reportedly opened fire directly at the teacher before fleeing the scene. Their identities and motives remain unknown.
