SDF’s integration into Syrian institutions will accelerate development – Erdogan
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syrian state institutions would accelerate Syria’s development efforts.
Speaking to reporters upon returning from Egypt, where he attended the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, Erdogan emphasized the need to complete the integration process “as soon as possible,” according to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency.
He expressed hope that the SDF would adopt a position supporting the unity of Syrian territory and that all parties would cooperate toward a “prosperous and stable future.”
His remarks came two days after an SDF delegation arrived in Damascus to discuss mechanisms for integrating into the Syrian army, as part of the March 10 agreement reached between both sides.
Earlier, Syrian Transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa met with SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi, during which both agreed to continue dialogue through their respective military committees to define the framework and terms of integration.
