ISIS claims series of attacks against SDF in Northeastern Syria
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) announced on Friday the results of its recent operations in Syria, saying that most of its attacks targeted areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the country’s northeast.
In its weekly publication al-Nabaa, the ISIS-affiliated outlet, the group claimed responsibility for killing 11 SDF fighters, wounding five others, and destroying two vehicles. The organization said the operations were documented with photographs.
ISIS highlighted two attacks in particular: an ambush targeting an SDF patrol in the village of al-Bahra in Deir ez-Zor’s eastern countryside, and a raid on an SDF military headquarters in the nearby village of Burayha.
The group said the attacks were meant to “affirm the steadfastness” of those held in Hawl Camp, which houses ISIS family members and affiliates.
Earlier this week, the SDF reported that ISIS had conducted 153 attacks in northeastern Syria since the fall of the al-Assad regime up to September 20, 2025.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), ISIS carried out 25 attacks in September across territories administered by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
