Asayish capture 2 ISIS members after clash in Deir ez-Zor
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Sunday the capture of two members of the Islamic State (ISIS) following an armed clash in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
In a statement released on its official website, the Asayish said that their forces clashed on Saturday afternoon with two ISIS members near Meheimideh village, north of Deir ez-Zor.
According to the statement, the two suspects, riding a motorcycle, had earlier attacked a vehicle carrying members of the Asayish on Saturday morning in the same area.
The Asayish said their forces managed to locate and track the attackers before capturing them after a brief clash, during which one of them was injured. No casualties were reported among the Asayish forces.
The statement added that a motorcycle, several weapons, and ammunition were seized during the operation.
