DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – North Press correspondent in Damascus reported on Wednesday evening that an improvised explosive device detonated near the School checkpoint of the General Security Directorate, located in the Mezzeh 86 area.
The device had been planted inside a vehicle, according to the report. Emergency and security teams immediately responded to the scene. No casualties have been reported so far, and damages appear to be limited to property.
The General Security Forces cordoned off the Mezzeh 86 area following the explosion. Authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of reporting.
