Syrian authorities arrest former regime security officials in Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that the Internal Security Directorate in al-Bab district, Aleppo countryside, arrested five individuals involved in crimes against civilians, including a former deputy to the head of the city’s military intelligence branch during the previous regime.
According to a statement posted on the ministry’s Telegram channel, the arrested include Zuhayr Abdulhay, described as a prominent assistant to Raslan Ali Raslan, who led Aleppo’s military intelligence branch under the former government.
The ministry said that Abdulhay committed criminal acts against civilians during his tenure with Raslan, including physical assaults, property confiscation, and extortion through threats and intimidation.
Abdulhay and his four accomplices have been referred to the competent judiciary to face trial in accordance with legal procedures.
