Asayish foil smuggling attempt of 60 ISIS individuals from Hawl Camp
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) thwarted on Tuesday an attempt to smuggle about 60 women and children from families of foreign Islamic State (ISIS) militants out of Hawl Camp in northeastern Syria, a well-informed security source told North Press on Wednesday.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the operation involved a truck and a Kia vehicle. The Asayish uncovered the plan, arrested those involved, and brought the attempt to a complete halt.
He added that investigations are underway to uncover the full circumstances of the incident and determine all parties connected to it.
Jihan Hannan, director of Hawl Camp, confirmed the incident to North Press, stating only that “the security forces managed to control and foil it,” without providing further details.
