Israeli forces conduct new raids, searches in southern Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces advanced on Saturday into southern Syria, with dozens of military vehicles entering the village of al-Asha in the Quneitra countryside. The soldiers conducted searches of several locations and homes.
Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath, a Saudi news channel, reported that after several hours, the Israeli forces withdrew and returned to the Golan Heights.
Earlier, both Quneitra and Daraa governorates experienced a surge in Israeli air activity. Israeli military vehicles also entered the village of al-Samadaniyah al-Sharqiya in Quneitra, where they raided a house and conducted a search.
The Israeli army announced to have discovered weapons in multiple locations across southern Syria during the operations, stating that several individuals involved in hostile activities were arrested, and weapons were seized.
This comes after an Israeli airdrop last week targeting a military site about 30 kilometers south of Damascus, which had been struck repeatedly in recent days.
Since the fall of al-Assad regime, Israel has significantly increased its incursions into southern Syria. Its ongoing strikes and raids on various sites have raised tensions, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirming his country’s commitment to establishing a demilitarized zone in southern Syria.
