Three killed in cross-border clash between Syrian, Lebanese smugglers
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Three people, including two Lebanese nationals and one Syrian, were killed on Tuesday morning and another Lebanese was injured in an exchange of fire between Syrian and Lebanese smugglers along the Syrian-Lebanese border.
Lebanese broadcaster Al-Jadeed reported that the confrontation broke out at dawn between Syrian and Lebanese smugglers in the border area near the outskirts of the Syrian town of Serghaya and the Lebanese town of Maarouba.
So far, neither the Syrian nor Lebanese authorities have issued an official statement regarding the incident.
