Coalition, SDF conduct joint military drills in Northeast Syria
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The U.S.-led Global Coalition conducted on Monday evening joint military drills with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at its base near the town of Tel Tamr in the northern countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
North Press correspondent reported that the drills took place at the Qasrak base and surrounding areas, featuring intensive low-altitude helicopter flights. Witnesses reported hearing bursts of gunfire and explosions around the base during the maneuvers.
On Tuesday morning, the Combined Joint Task Force–Operation Inherent Resolve confirmed the exercises through its official channels, stating that the nighttime drills were aimed at strengthening the operational capabilities of coalition troops and supporting their “partner forces.”
“Apache night exercises s like this one allow Coalition members to be effective force multipliers by mentoring and developing partner force capabilities to defeat ISIS and maintain regional security and stability.”
The statement emphasized that the training is part of ongoing efforts to defeat ISIS and to maintain security and stability in northeastern Syria.
