Israeli forces carry out incursions in southern Syria
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli military forces carried out on Monday a series of incursions across Quneitra and the Damascus countryside, conducting extensive search operations in several separate areas.
On Sunday, the Israeli forces infiltrated the towns of Breiqa and Bir Ajam in the south of Quneitra, seizing a detachment of the Syrian General Security in Breiqa, expelling its members, and withdrawing after roughly three hours.
According to local sources, another unit entered the village of Ain al-Abd, raiding the al-Quntar military company before retreating.
Separate incursions were also recorded in the Tel Ahmar al-Sharqi area and the town of Manshiyat Suwaisa, where houses were searched for wanted individuals.
In the western Damascus countryside, witnesses said an Israeli force of 11 military vehicles and over 60 soldiers infiltrated the town of Beit Jann, conducting searches before withdrawing without making arrests.
The force allegedly used loudspeakers to demand that residents send ten representatives to meet with them. Instead, more than thirty townspeople approached the Israeli troops, prompting warning shots and an order for them to disperse.
Separately, about an hour earlier, an Israeli drone struck a disabled tank between the villages of Ruwayhina and Rasm al-Halabi in central Quneitra, the sources said.
So far, neither the Syrian transitional government nor the Israeli army has issued a statement regarding the incursions.
