Israeli forces arrest three people in raid in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces arrested on Thursday three people during an incursion into the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.
A local source told North Press that Israeli forces infiltrated the town of Abdeen, raiding several homes before arresting three young men from the Masri family. The reasons for the arrests remain unclear.
The source added that the operation began suddenly around 4 AM, with several military vehicles supporting the forces as they stormed the town. Homes were thoroughly searched.
The three detainees were reportedly transferred to an undisclosed location inside Israeli territory. No official statement has been released, and the operation remains shrouded in secrecy.
According to the source, such incursions into Abdeen are rare, with the last operation taking place months ago. The unusual raid has intensified concerns among locals that this may mark the beginning of a series of repeated incursions and arrests in the area.
Residents fear the move could signal a broader escalation in a region already on edge since the fall of the al-Assad regime.
