Syrian transitional government forces seize weapons in rural Dara
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – The General Security Forces of the Syrian transitional govetnment conducted a security operation on Saturday in rural Daraa Governorate, seizing a cache of weapons and detaining four individuals in connection with recent unrest in the area, officials reported.
The operation took place in several villages and towns within the al-Lajat region, located north of the city of Izra’ in the northeastern countryside of Daraa. According to local security sources, the campaign was launched in response to armed clashes that have occurred in the area in recent days, threatening the fragile stability in southern Syria.
The operation concluded with the arrest of four individuals suspected of being involved in recent security incidents. Authorities stated that the detainees were referred to the judiciary in accordance with legal procedures, though no further details about their identities or affiliations were provided.
While the security landscape in southern Syria remains volatile, other parts of the country, particularly in the northeast under the governance of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), continue to implement community-led security and civil structures. These efforts, supported by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), have contributed to a relatively stable environment in contrast to the ongoing disruptions seen in areas such as Daraa.
