Asayish arrest 4 men on drug trafficking charges in NE Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and east Syria (Asayish) announced on Monday the arrest of four individuals in the cities of Hasakah and Raqqa, northeastern Syria, on charges of drug trafficking.

According to an official statement, the Asayish arrested three individuals in Hasakah.The arrests followed a period of surveillance and investigation that confirmed the suspects’ involvement in narcotics distribution.

The Asayish added that the confiscated materials included one kilogram of hashish, 2,880 tablets of the narcotic Biogablin (150 mg), a military-grade gas mask, and four hand grenades.

In a separate operation in the city of Raqqa, security forces seized 150 grams of crystal methamphetamine from an individual who also possessed a hookah reportedly used for drug consumption.

The Asayish stated that the Raqqa operation was carried out on May 20. All suspects from both Hasakah and Raqqa have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal proceedings.
