Asayish forces arrest key ISIS suicide cell member in Deir ez-Zor 

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced late on Monday that they had apprehended a member of the so-called “suicide cell” affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

In an official statement, the Asayish described the individual, who was detained early Friday morning, as “one of the most dangerous members of ISIS sleeper cells” operating in the eastern region of the country.

According to the statement, the detainee is implicated in multiple assassination operations and has played a role in destabilizing the security and stability of the area.

He is also reported to have been actively involved in the formation and operations of ISIS’s suicide units.

The Asayish noted that preliminary procedures are currently underway with the suspect, who will be referred to the judiciary in accordance with legal protocols to face appropriate justice.
