Israel provides medical treatment to wounded Syrian Druze – IDF

SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that it had provided medical treatment to 10 injured Syrian Druze who were evacuated to Ziv Medical Center in Safed, northern Israel.

In an official statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that over the past two days, 10 Syrian Druze individuals were evacuated to Israel to receive medical care.

According to the statement, the wounded were transported from Syrian territory to the Ziv Medical Center after sustaining injuries during recent unrest.

The IDF further noted its ongoing deployment in southern Syria, emphasizing that it “deployed to southern Syria and prepared to prevent hostile forces from entering the area and Druze villages.”

The IDF added that it continues to monitor developments closely and is ready for various security scenarios.

On May 2, the IDF evacuated five injured individuals from the Druze-majority governorate of Suwayda to Israel for medical treatment.

In recent days, several areas in the Damascus and Suwayda countryside— both home to large Druze populations — witnessed armed clashes.

The confrontations concluded on May 1 with a ceasefire agreement aimed at restoring calm and stability.
