Blasts of war remnants injure 6, including children, in Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Six people, including children, were injured on Sunday due to explosions caused by unexploded ordnance in various parts of Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.
A local source told North Press that a metallic object—believed to be remnants of a previous bombardment—detonated in the city of Kafranbel, injuring a child and his father. Both were taken to Ariha Central Hospital for treatment.
Similar incidents were reported in the towns of Jarjnaz, Talmanas, and al-Bara, located in the southern and eastern countryside of Idlib. These explosions left four people injured, some of whom suffered serious injuries including fractures and limb amputations.
The source noted that unexploded shells and munitions remain scattered across the region, posing a constant threat to civilians—especially in light of the limited availability of specialized demining teams.
Last week, a child was injured when a cluster bomb exploded as a family lit a fire outside their home near the Civil Defense Directorate in central Idlib.
