Global Coalition, SDF conduct assessment visit to Tishrin Dam

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A delegation from the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, accompanied by representatives of the Syrian Transitional Government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), conducted on Saturday a brief reconnaissance visit to the Tishrin Dam area in northern Syria, according to a military source from the SDF.

The visit comes after months of intense clashes between the SDF and Turkey-backed armed factions, which had turned the Tishrin region into one of the focal points of the ongoing conflict.

The area had witnessed more than four months of heavy fighting, but has recently experienced a notable reduction in hostilities.

The SDF source, speaking to North Press, confirmed that the security situation around the dam has remained calm for several days, though declined to comment on reports suggesting a potential ceasefire or formal agreement with Turkish forces.

According to local information obtained by North Press, the Global Coalition and the Syrian government delegation departed the area shortly after concluding their inspection, signaling a continued interest in monitoring strategic infrastructure in the region.
