War remnant blast kills, injures 2 children in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – One child was killed and another was injured on Monday in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, by a war remnant explosion.

A local source told North Press that the explosion occurred in the town of al-Shaafa when two children were handling an old war projectile, attempting to dismantle it.

The explosion claimed the life of 10-year-old Rashid Ahmad al-Alyan and severely injured 13-year-old Muhammad al-Nahar, who lost several fingers and suffered additional injuries.

These incidents highlight the ongoing dangers faced by children in conflict-affected regions, where war remnants and unsafe environments continue to pose lethal threats.
