Trump orders military strikes on Houthis in Yemen, killing over 31

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – More than 31 people were killed on Saturday night after U.S. President Donald Trump ordered large-scale military strikes against the Houthi group in Yemen, according to a report by Reuters.

Trump warned the Houthis that if they did not cease attacks on maritime navigation in the Red Sea, “Hell will rain down upon you like nothing you have ever seen before.”

He also issued a stern warning to Iran, the Houthis’ primary backer, cautioning that continued support for the group would have severe consequences.

“If Iran threatened the United States, America will hold you fully accountable and, we won’t be nice about it,” Trump declared.

The previous U.S. administration under President Joe Biden had sought to weaken the Houthis’ ability to attack ships off Yemen’s coast, but its measures remained limited in scope.

Meanwhile, Reuters cited unnamed U.S. officials who confirmed that Trump had authorized a more aggressive approach, aligning with his recent rhetoric.

On Saturday, Trump announced that he had ordered the military to carry out a decisive operation against the Houthis.

This marks the first military action of Trump’s presidency against Iran’s proxy in Yemen.
