KRI’s Yazidi Rescue Office says over 5,000 killed by ISIS

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Kidnapped Yazidi Rescue Office in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq released on Sunday the latest statistics regarding the genocide committed against the Yazidis by the Islamic State (ISIS).

According to the report, more than 5,000 Yazidis were killed, and 2,745 children were left orphaned. The office also documented the discovery of 93 mass graves in Sinjar, in addition to numerous sites containing individual graves.

The total number of Yazidis kidnapped by ISIS reached 6,417, including 3,548 women and 2,869 men. Of these, 3,585 were rescued.

Meanwhile, 274 kidnapped individuals—237 men and 37 women—were found in mass graves and their remains returned to their families.

As of now, 2,558 Yazidis remain missing, including 1,225 women and 1,333 men.
