Intelligence transfers 8 Syrian detainees from Afrin to Turkey
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Turkish intelligence transferred on Sunday eight Syrian detainees from Jindires, a town in Afrin’s western countryside, northwestern Syria, into Turkish territory without coordination with local security authorities.
A senior official from the Syrian General Security forces in Jindires told North Press that the detainees, most of whom belong to the Kurdish community, were moved without consulting the relevant security institutions.
“The transfer was carried out from the Military Police prison in Jindires through the Hamam border crossing north of Afrin, directly into Turkey,” the source added.
The official emphasized that such transfers should be coordinated with prison administration and security agencies. However, he noted that Turkish authorities continue to treat Afrin and its surrounding areas as they did before their military intervention in the region.
