Unidentified gunmen kill General Security member in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Monday a member of the General Security forces of the caretaker government in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A security source told North Press that two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire with an automatic weapon, targeting Nour Zain al-Abidine in front of his home in the village of al-Dwair in southeast of Deir ez-Zor.
The attack resulted in Zain al-Abidine’s immediate death, while the gunmen quickly fled the scene.
The source further noted that al-Abidine had recently joined the General Security forces under the Syrian Ministry of Interior. He had completed his training just days prior and was on leave at the time of the attack.
