Landmine blast kills 2 people in Syria’s Idlib

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two individuals lost their lives on Tuesday after a landmine, a remnant of war, exploded in the countryside of Idlib, northwestern Syria.

The Syrian Civil Defense stated on its platforms that the explosion occurred in the village of Abu Dafna in the countryside of Maarat al-Numan, attributed to a landmine left behind by the previous Syrian regime.

The statement added that the victims were siblings.

Just two days earlier, two others were killed, and two more, including a child, were injured in separate landmine explosions in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

The statement added that their teams inspected the area and confirmed no further injuries.
