ALEPPO, SYRIA (North Press) – Senior female officials of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) were among those injured in a Turkish drone strike that targeted a civilian convoy near Tishrin Dam in Aleppo’s countryside on Tuesday.

The mid-day attack, which struck a convoy protesting Turkish aggression, resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to 20 others.

Injured Officials

Among the injured were prominent figures in AANES:

  • Hemrin Ali, Co-Deputy of the Executive Council
  • Nadia Youssef, Co-Chair of the Fuel Directorate in Jazira Region
  • Samira Haj Ali, Co-Chair of the Education Authority in North and East Syria

Local activists and social media users circulated video footage showing the aftermath of the strike, including images of the injured officials.

Continuous Turkish Strikes

Turkish forces have repeatedly targeted areas surrounding Tishreen Dam, a vital infrastructure serving the region. Recent weeks have seen an escalation in drone strikes, many of which have targeted civilian gatherings and infrastructure critical to the local population.

In a statement earlier, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) condemned the attack as a deliberate attempt to intimidate civilians and undermine the stability of the region.

Growing Civilian Toll

Witnesses and medical sources reported that several of the injured remain in critical condition, while others have been transported to medical facilities in the area. Activists stress the urgent need for international intervention to halt what they describe as systematic targeting of civilian and administrative figures by Turkish forces.

The region has called for international pressure to enforce a no-fly zone and protect civilians from continued Turkish aggression.
