MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday the killing and injury of 27 militants of the Turkish-backed armed factions, aka the Syria National Army (SNA), in the countryside of Manbij and Raqqa, northern Syria.

In a statement, the SDF said that the SNA factions launched a large-scale assault around noon on Tuesday, supported by Turkish warplanes and drones.

The attack originated from Abu Saeed Farm, targeting the Syriatel Hill and its surroundings in Manbij countryside.

The attackers used armored vehicles, including BMBs, vehicles equipped with DShK heavy machine guns, and tanks, the statement read.

The SDF confirmed that fierce battles ensued, resulting in the destruction of two armored vehicles and damage to a third.

The battles resulted in the killing of 18 SNA militants and the injury of nine others, and the remaining militants retreated.

The SDF also reported conducting 19 operations against the SNA factions, leading to the destruction of seven BMB vehicles, three tanks, and six vehicles armed with DShKs.

Three militant gatherings were also targeted during these operations, the SDF noted.

Five SDF fighters were also killed in the clashes due to Turkish artillery shelling and drone strikes.

The SDF added that the Turkish warplanes carried out four airstrikes on Mount Berkel, south of Kobani, causing material damage and injuries near Ain Issa town.
