SDF reports 30 casualties among SNA militants in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reported on Monday that 30 militants of the Turkish-backed armed factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), were killed or injured in clashes southeast of Manbij, northern Syria.
In a statement, the SDF said that Sunday’s confrontations resulted in 23 SNA militants killed and 7 wounded.
The clashes erupted when the SNA factions launched an attack on Syriatel Hill and surrounding villages.
The SDF forces countered the offensive, destroying five military vehicles, three armored personnel carriers, a troop transport vehicle, and a BMB armored vehicle.
On Monday morning, Turkish forces reportedly intensified their offensive by shelling the villages of Garg and Umurk in the countryside of Kobani.
Heavy airstrikes targeted the villages of Maghrebten and Sabt, south of Kobani, as well as a cement factory near the town of Sirrin, according to the SDF statement.
This development follows an earlier SDF report from Sunday claiming that 59 SNA militants were killed or injured during clashes in the eastern countryside of Manbij.
