Separate blasts in Deir ez-Zor leave 5 casualties among HTS

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Two separate incidents in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, resulted on Sunday evening in the killing of one and the injury of four other members of the Military Operations Command of the HTS, led by Ahmad al-Sharaa, that has run the country since the fall of the Assad regime.

A local source from the village of al-Boleel, east of Deir ez-Zor, said that a fuel tanker exploded on the main road in the village under unclear circumstances.

“The explosion claimed the life of 20-year-old Ghannam al-Kanama and injured a member of the Military Operations Command,” the source said, adding that the tanker was completely destroyed.

In a separate incident at the al-Masriya roundabout at the entrance of Abu Kamal, a town east of Deir ez-Zor, a grenade accidentally detonated inside a Military Operations Command vehicle.

According to the source, the explosion occurred due to mishandling by the personnel inside the vehicle.

The mishap resulted in injuries to three members, who were promptly transported to a field hospital in the area. A doctor at the hospital reported that their condition is stable and not life-threatening.
