Pentagon says ceasefire between SDF, Turkey in Syria’s Manbij holding
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced late on Monday that the ceasefire between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkey in the northern Syrian city of Manbij was holding.
Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh said, “The ceasefire is holding in that northern part of Syria.”
Despite this, the SDF said that Turkey is violating the agreement. The SDF stated that, despite U.S.-led de-escalation efforts, Turkey and its affiliated factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), continue to launch attacks in several areas, including the city of Kobani, the Tishrin Dam, and the town of Ain Issa.
