Turkey’s Erdogan: Israel Must Withdraw from Occupied Syrian Lands
ANKARA, Turkey (North Press) – On Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that “Israel will have to withdraw from the Syrian territories it has occupied.”
Following the fall of the Assad regime earlier this month, Israel expanded its control over large parts of rural Quneitra and Daraa in southern Syria.
Erdogan emphasized, “Turkey has been the most accurate in reading the developments in Syria. From the very beginning, we stood on the right side of history.”
He revealed that Turkish officials, including top-ranking envoys, have visited Damascus to meet with the new leadership headed by Ahmed Al-Shara, signaling improved relations between the two nations.
“We are very pleased to see many Syrians who received education in Turkey now holding prominent positions in Syria,” Erdogan added.
The Turkish president also asserted that Israel’s escalating aggression aims to undermine the Syrian revolution and suppress the hopes of its people.
